Autumn Mist in Sligo
An early morning mist creeping across fields in Sligo Bay, Ireland. Sea mists regularily roll in from Strandhill creating this mystical effect along the coast. The sun was burning it away and had just started lighting up the fields when I took this from the top of Knocknarea with a 400mm telephoto to isolate the scene.
This was taken on Arthurs Seat in Edinburgh, Scotland. The sun was setting across the slopes of the mountain as we made our way back down creating this beautiful golden glow that shone through the grass.

Technically called Physalis alkekengi these flowers are also referred to as Chinese Lanterns or Winter Cherry. They are beautiful but even more so when autumn arrives and the outer layer decomposes back to it's vein like structure leaving the berry inside visible. This is a macro photograph taken with a 100mm canon lens.
This is a macro photograph of a lace flower in autumn as it fades away. It has a beautiful and delicate lace structure that remains until the flower falls to the ground and eventually decays. This is taken against a beautiful green mossy background in Sligo, Ireland.
